Tabriz 2018 project: Tabriz, Iran’s northwestern city, has been selected as the capital of Islamic tourism in 2018 by the organization of Islamic cooperation (OIC).
Iran has inaugurated the Tabriz tourism gala with the participation of dozens of representatives from numerous Muslim countries including diplomas and ministers. It counts as the biggest tourism event of Muslim countries in the city of Tabriz to mark the recognition of the city as the capital of Islamic tourism.
In the ninth assembly of tourist ministers and chief officers of the member countries of OIC, several well-known Islamic cities were nominated as the possible candidates. Among those cities, Tabriz was chosen because of its beauties, cultural and historical potentials.
Tabriz has an old history, rich culture, unique tourist attractions and traditional sites, modern shopping centers, excellent civilization and gentle weather. In addition, as there is an increasing demand for Islamic values in the universal tourism industry, Tabriz gets its title also based on promoting halal tourism and halal food.
Tabriz 2018 project goals:
The title, the capital of Islamic tourism, is most definitely the first step of all international achievements of Tabriz. A starting point to educate citizens and improve its tourism infrastructure to meet the demands and contentment of tourists.
Tabriz municipality along with other operational organizations are taking effective approaches including holding various exhibitions and expanding international cultural interactions toward better tourist future of Tabriz.
Besides the city administrations, citizens also care about the name of Tabriz. The citizens of this tourism capital of Islamic countries do their best to make the city the host of domestic and international tourists. Without the participation of citizens, reaching the city’s goals would not take place.
Both citizens and city administrations are taking all the necessary measures to introduce Tabriz city to the world and attract tourists and explorers. The easiest way to promote the name of Tabriz to the world could be sharing a simple photo or displaying a masterpiece of the artistic works.
